Wholesale Ceramics Buying Guide

How does wholesale buying of Kütahya ceramics work? Minimum order, samples, payment and delivery terms explained step by step.

If you run a shop, a hotel or an import business and you are considering Kütahya ceramics, the first questions are usually the same: how does the process work, how much do I have to order, and when will the goods arrive? This guide walks through every step, from first contact to delivery.

How the wholesale process works

We do not publish prices on the website, because the price changes with the product, the quantity and the delivery terms. Instead we work through quotes:

  1. Add the products you are interested in to your quote cart from the catalog.
  2. Submit a quote request with your company details and estimated quantities.
  3. Enter the verification code sent to your email address.
  4. Our sales team replies within 24 hours with pricing, lead time and shipping options.
  5. Once terms are agreed, we issue a proforma invoice and schedule production.

Minimum order quantity

The minimum order is one case per product. We do not sell by the piece; the number of units per case varies by product. You can combine different products in the same order — you are not required to buy dozens of cases of a single item.

Mixed orders are the usual choice for a first purchase: you take one case of several models, see which ones sell in your own market, and weight the second order accordingly.

Requesting samples

If you would rather not decide without handling the product, we can send samples. Sample quantity and shipping terms depend on the destination country, so we discuss this during the quote stage. Because everything is hand-shaped and hand-painted, small variations in colour and pattern occur from piece to piece; a sample shows you exactly how much variation to expect.

What determines the price

Four things shape a quote:

  • Size and labour intensity — a 40 cm vase does not carry the same work as a 5 cm bowl.
  • Total order quantity — unit price falls as volume rises.
  • Delivery terms — EXW, FOB and DAP each produce a different price.
  • Whether it is custom production — logo printing, custom colours or custom sizes are calculated separately.

Payment methods

We work with bank transfer and letter of credit (LC). For first orders we normally proceed with a deposit on order confirmation and the balance before shipment. Payment terms can be relaxed for regular customers.

Packaging and delivery

Every item is individually packed for export. Ceramics are fragile, so inner padding, compartment boxes and pallet wrapping are standard practice for us. Lead time depends on stock and order size; we share a firm date with the quote.

We ship across Europe, primarily to Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany and the Netherlands.

Custom production and branding

You can request logo-branded products for your own label, custom colours, or a size that is not in our catalog. Minimum quantities and lead times for custom production differ from standard items; we evaluate these requests individually.

What to tell us in a quote request

Four pieces of information are enough for a fast and accurate quote:

  • The products you are interested in and the approximate number of cases — a range is fine, it does not have to be exact.
  • Destination country and city — freight cost is calculated from this.
  • Your preferred delivery term (EXW, FOB, DAP) — if you are unsure, leave it out and we will price all three.
  • Your target delivery date — if the order has to reach a season, say so up front.

Tax number and full company name are needed at the invoicing stage, not for a first quote.

Common mistakes on a first order

A few mistakes recur with buyers working with us for the first time. Knowing them up front lets you get the mix right without waiting for a second order:

  • Loading up on one model — you cannot know which product sells to your customer on the first order.
  • Buying only large sizes — large pieces draw attention in the window, but small and medium sizes turn the revenue.
  • Not passing freight and customs into the shelf price — unit cost is not just the product price.
  • Placing seasonal orders late — production schedules stretch in busy periods with handmade work.

What to expect from a handmade product

Our products are not slip-cast; each piece is shaped by hand and painted with a brush. The practical consequence is this: two pieces of the same model are never identical. Differences of a few millimetres in pattern weight, colour tone and size are normal.

Presenting that difference to your customer as evidence of handwork rather than as a defect works in your favour — it is precisely where you separate from mass-produced ceramics. Pieces that fail quality control after glazing and firing never enter a shipment.
